This looks like a job for SUPER-WELLESIAN!

Acting Unlimited, Inc. is proud to present the regional premiere of SUPER-WELLESIAN by Rory Jobst, which opens this week, Friday 20th at 7:30pm and will run for 2 weekends.

In Superman issue #62, legendary filmmaker Orson Welles appears as himself. With the help of the Man of Steel, Orson takes down a ruthless army of Martian Fascists. Super-Wellesian reconnects these two characters to record a radio drama version of their exciting adventure. Much to Welles' dismay, Acting is not one of Superman's powers and conquering Martians may not be the duo’s biggest challenge after all.

The cast includes several familiar faces in the Acadiana theatre community: Michael Cato as Superman, Casey Harmon as Orson Welles, Amy Brown as Lois Lane, Tim Hyde as Jackson Beck, and Erik Schneider as famed Martian Actor, Clark Marble. Directed by Rick Manuel.

Inspired by comic books themselves, Rick Manuel has brought the comic world to the stage with his dramatic primary color scheme. Members of the cast and crew worked diligently through the long Mardi Gras weekend to put together one of the brightest sets I've ever personally seen at Theatre 810.

But the set isn't the only bright presence on the stage. The cast has fully embraced this comic-book-come-to-life world, and shows us sides of these iconic characters that we've never gotten to see before, all while providing fantastic comedic delivery.

SUPER-WELLESIAN is the first show of Acting Unlimited's 2015 season.  Shows will take place February 20, 21, 26-28 at 7:30pm with a matinee on Sunday, February 22 at 3:00pm. Tickets are $10. For ticket reservations, call (337) 484-0172 or order online at auisuperwellesian.eventbrite.com
