3 down, 3 to go for SUPER-WELLESIAN

Acting Unlimited, Inc. had a pretty super opening weekend when it came to attendance for Rory Jobst's Super-Wellesian. With two nearly sold out nights this past weekend, the company hopes that this is a sign of good things to come for the rest of their 2015 season.

If you haven't gotten to see the show yet, there are 3 more chances this week! Call 484-0172 to reserve your seats for Thursday, February 26th, Friday, February 27th, or Saturday, February 28th! Or, order your seats online at auisuperwellesian.eventbrite.com!

While we wait for Super-Wellesian to return, Silverbacks Improv Theatre will be back on Wednesday, February 25th at 7:30! Directed by Deborah D. Ardoin, Medea of the Big Box Store is a comic riff on a classic tragedy, dedicated to anyone who ever had a crappy job. After years of toiling in the cluttered aisles of Magic Mart, Dee gets her big break: a gig at the Bull's Eye national flagship store and a romance with Jason, the nerdy new manager. But when the ruthless owner/CEO uses Jason as a ploy to stop his beautiful daughter from escaping into a world of minimum wage madness, Dee vows revenge. Now she and her friends must do whatever necessary to teach Jason a lesson-that is if her friends don't screw it up and manage to survive her rage.

The cast is made up of
Erin Spisak, Gabe Ortego, Kelly Russo, Allen Higginbotham, and Kevin Miller

The shows will occur on March 5th, 6th, 7th, 12th, and 13th at 7:30pm and March 8th at 2:00pm

This looks like a job for SUPER-WELLESIAN!

Acting Unlimited, Inc. is proud to present the regional premiere of SUPER-WELLESIAN by Rory Jobst, which opens this week, Friday 20th at 7:30pm and will run for 2 weekends.

In Superman issue #62, legendary filmmaker Orson Welles appears as himself. With the help of the Man of Steel, Orson takes down a ruthless army of Martian Fascists. Super-Wellesian reconnects these two characters to record a radio drama version of their exciting adventure. Much to Welles' dismay, Acting is not one of Superman's powers and conquering Martians may not be the duo’s biggest challenge after all.

The cast includes several familiar faces in the Acadiana theatre community: Michael Cato as Superman, Casey Harmon as Orson Welles, Amy Brown as Lois Lane, Tim Hyde as Jackson Beck, and Erik Schneider as famed Martian Actor, Clark Marble. Directed by Rick Manuel.

Inspired by comic books themselves, Rick Manuel has brought the comic world to the stage with his dramatic primary color scheme. Members of the cast and crew worked diligently through the long Mardi Gras weekend to put together one of the brightest sets I've ever personally seen at Theatre 810.

But the set isn't the only bright presence on the stage. The cast has fully embraced this comic-book-come-to-life world, and shows us sides of these iconic characters that we've never gotten to see before, all while providing fantastic comedic delivery.

SUPER-WELLESIAN is the first show of Acting Unlimited's 2015 season.  Shows will take place February 20, 21, 26-28 at 7:30pm with a matinee on Sunday, February 22 at 3:00pm. Tickets are $10. For ticket reservations, call (337) 484-0172 or order online at auisuperwellesian.eventbrite.com
