Acting Unlimited announces Auditions for SUPER-WELLESIAN by Rory Jobst

Auditions will be held on January 3rd-5th for Acting Unlimited, Inc.'s first show of 2015, SUPER-WELLESIAN by Rory Jobst. (The show will run February 20th-23th & 26th-28th.)

Super-Wellesian reconnects these two characters to record a radio drama version of their exciting adventure. Much to Welles' dismay, Acting is not one of Superman's powers and conquering Martians may not be the duo’s biggest challenge after all."

Holiday Shenanigans are Nigh!

Tonight (Tuesday, December 16th), Acting Unlimited and Theatre 810 will host our second annual Holiday Party to thank everyone who has supported us throughout the year. Feel free to stop by between 7:30 and 9:30 tonight to mingle with the theatre community. Bring a sharable food item. There will be an optional White Elephant gift swap (limit $10). This party is family friendly.

Tomorrow Night (Wednesday, December 17th), Silverbacks Improv Theatre will return with their 3rd Annual Improvised Holiday Special!

Each year around the Holidays, Silverbacks interpret their signature improvisations through the lens of a Holiday – a brand new, completely made up Holiday that is. With the audience’s help, Silverbacks will create their very own holiday – think “Festivus for the Rest of Us” from Seinfeld.

For this show, each of the performers will be wearing an “Ugly Holiday Sweater” and invite the audience to do the same. ANY Holiday themed items are welcome – the audience is invited to wear their ugliest Christmas, Easter, Mardi Gras, or even Groundhog day sweaters to add to the fun. Previous invented holidays were “Paper-Clip Appreciation Day” (2012) and “Garden Gnome Day” (2013). What will be 2014’s holiday?

The Show will start at 7:30 at Theatre 810. Tickets are $7 (or $5 with a valid Student ID).

Wanderlust Theatre Company goes Post-Electric with Mr. Burns

Wanderlust Theatre Company presents Anne Washburn's MR. BURNS: A POST-ELECTRIC PLAY, this week at Theatre 810!

What will endure when the grid fails, society crumbles, and we’re faced with the task of rebuilding? Anne Washburn’s imaginative dark musical-comedy propels us forward nearly a century, following a new civilization stumbling into its future. How might the pop culture of one era evolve into the mythology of another?

The seasoned ensemble includes Andrew D. Hunter II, Missy Paschke-Wood, Charlee Halphen, Aren Chaisson III, Elaine Kibodeaux, M. Brady McKellar, Jessica Jouclard, Megan Laque, Catharine Arceneaux, Stew Bacque, Katie Lahey, Wesley Saucier and Kristie Trahan.

This is the first production in the 2014-15 Wanderlust season. It follows last season's popular productions of Steinbeck's Of Mice & Men and the first annual outdoor Shakespeare production of Comedy of Errors, among others.

MR. BURNS opens this Wednesday and will be here for one week only!

The Tea Sippers bring The Outside inside this weekend at Theatre 810.
This weekend, December 5th, 6th, and 7th, The Tea Sipper's Theatre Company will bring in The Outside, by Andrew Lee Vincent!

We got a chance to peek at the set earlier this week, and they really have brought The Outside INSIDE. And the set has only gotten more interesting leading up to opening night. After this photo was taken, a company artist came in and began to decorate the flats with incredible detail.

The show will run Friday and Saturday evening at 7:30 and Sunday afternoon at 3:00! Tickets are $10. For reservations call us at 484-0172 or email us at theatre810@gmail.com.

As soon as The Tea Sippers move out, Wanderlust Theatre Company is moving in immediately to prepare for their production of Anne Washburn's MR. BURNS: A POST-ELECTRIC PLAY.
